50th Anniversary of the Loss of the S/S Gulfstag
Thousands of Southeast Texans have served our community and our country in peace and in
war in the US merchant Marine. By their efforts, they allow us to enjoy the life that we have.
In their honor, and that of our mariner's who did not return home, the Port Arthur International
Seafarers' Center and the Apostleship of the Sea - Diocese of Beaumont present a seminar and
dinner on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the explosion, fire and sinking
of the S/S Gulfstag.
